About Us

A Place Where Every Child Belongs!

Why We Exist

Sensory Island began with a mother’s hope. When Dr. Ralu Onubogu’s son was diagnosed with autism, her world changed. Suddenly, life was full of therapy appointments, unanswered questions, and the quiet heartbreak of watching her child be misunderstood.

She searched for a space where he could just be free to flap, spin, speak, or stay calm. A space where he wasn’t just welcomed, but celebrated. That space didn’t exist. So she created one.

Sensory Island was born from that need: a need for safety, for joy, for inclusion, not just for the child, but for the whole family.

What We Believe

What Makes Us Different

Most centers focus only on therapy. We focus on wholeness.

Here’s how we stand apart:

Lived Experience

Our founder and many team members are parents and caregivers who’ve lived this journey. We know the fear, the hope, and how to truly help.

Heart-Led Design

From calm colors to quiet zones, every detail of our space was created with sensory sensitivity, love, and emotional safety in mind.

True Inclusion

We embrace every child exactly as they are, stimming, silence, meltdowns, and all, because being different should never mean being excluded.

Whole-Family Approach

We don’t just care for children, we uplift caregivers through support groups, resources, and connection, making families feel stronger, safer, and less alone.

"At Sensory Island, we don’t just provide services, we provide belonging."

"At Sensory Island, we don’t just provide services,
